CATALOGING ISSUES - MARC Records

ListenNJ participants may download MARC records of ListenNJ titles for loading into local systems. This is not a requirement for ListenNJ participants. Participants who do include ListenNJ titles in their catalogs report a positive impact on circulation and program visability. MARC records are provided by OCLC and can lag behind the availability of the title in ListenNJ. Look here for new MARC records as they become available.

OCLC OVERDRIVE MARC RECORDS

NOTE:

Files for titles added prior to 2011 have been consolidated into annual files.

You cannot use your browser for FTP to this new site. Instead...

Right click on the Start button and choose Explore

In the Address box, type:

ftp://mcs@ftp2.oclc.org/cpp/inlcp

A dialogue box will open prompting you for the password.

Type in the password where prompted. Be sure to follow case: %tgZngWx

Note you will have the opportunity to save the password. Tick that box and you won't have to supply the password again.

Once you have typed the needed information, click OK. You will now see an Explorer view with the FTP site on the right side. The local folders on your PC will be on the left.

You can drag and drop the files from the server to any local folder.

NOTE: Please be sure that you DO NOT delete the files from the FTP site. Use drag/drop or the copy command to copy the files into local directories. DO NOT use the Delete command.

While connected, add the address to your favorites.

An abbreviated version of the link will be saved. It will look like this:

ftp://ftp2@oclc.org/cpp/inlcp

This link will not work.

To correct this, click on Favorites in Explorer's tool bar.

Right click on the link for the FTP site and choose properties.

Edit the URL to display the proper link:

ftp://mcs@ftp2.oclc.org/cpp/inlcp

In the future, if you want to log in to the FTP site...

Right click on Start->Choose Explore->Select the FTP site from your Favorites
